I deserve what I didn't get

The year 2024 has been "my year." In the seven months that have so far comprised this solar circuit, I have received certification as a private investigator and professional geologist in Virginia, completed a Graduate Certificate in Leadership, been promoted to Associate Vice President at my college and to "full-bird" colonel in the Army, sought and achieved appointment to the Lynchburg City School Board, and been named a Fellow of the Geological Society of London, among many other things. Like no other time in my life, I am in the throes of God's favor and can feel his presence every day as He continues to open doors and provide wonderful professional and community-service opportunities. I am experiencing the abundance of the psalmist when he writes, "It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe" (Ps. 133:2, NIV). Yet, I realize--contrary to the many well wishes of friends and family--I deserve none of it. Indeed, I deserve quite the opposite, namely, condemnation and repudiation for the many times my federal and particular sins have "found me out." If I were given my just deserts, then I would be destitute--a pauper among the poor and a loser among the lost. But praise be to God, I have been given that which I don't deserve, and now my challenge is to use these blessings for good and to manifest them for the benefit of others. May He guide me in this endeavor along right paths for His name's sake.

Amen brother. This is the gift of God, grace and mercy, and we do not deserve it.
